Pin-up Shoot 2010

So I gathered 10 amazing girls, one fab Stylist (Matt Shea), an amazing hair stylist (Flame), gorg makeup artist (Diana DeCarlo) and a pile of clothes from Trina Turk and this is what we got.

It was so exhausting and so fun and the girls were fierce and I don't usually say the work fierce.

"Ggggg Lllll Oooo Rrrr IIIIIII A. GLORIA G. L. O. R. I. A."

My friends and I are obsessed with Patti Smith. We've immersed ourselves in her songs, poetry, films and most of all her book Just Kids. She is inspiring, poetic and embodies all the thoughts and ideas we as artists strive to become. We were lucky enough to see her perform a benefit concert in Jersey a couple of weeks ago. It was amazing. Breathtaking. A true religious experience. Her voice was incredible, sounding just as clear and strong as it did on her first album, Horses. She moved with this ethereal beauty, just slightly gliding her arms back and forth on top of the air. It was mesmerizing. Several times she would step away from the mic and come to the edge of the stage to graze the tops of our outstretched fingers with her hands.....this ageless icon towering over us. My heart pounded for the entire 1 hour and 45 min set which really felt like a mere 15 mins. It was one of those experiences where you want to remember every single sight, sound and smell but just a few mins after it is over you can barely recall anything. Luckily we made our way to the very front and I was able to snap some great shots.

New York Buskin' at it's Best

New York has some of the best (and worst) street/subway musicians. They are one of my favorite things to shoot in the city. They have some much personality and beauty. Here are some I have taken over the last few weeks.

Class in Washington Square Park

Short post.  I give you this lovely woman I saw in the Washington Square Park this weekend. She is classic.
